In the latest of his “Inspiring Interviews” series, Life Coach – Speaker – Business Coach Rasheed Ogunlaru author of Soul Trader meets Denise Nurse, lawyer, founder of Halebury Solicitors and TV Presenter. You may recognise Denise as being one of the hosts of BBC TV’s Escape to the Country. Denise is a classic ‘Soul Trader’ following her heart to succeed in her chosen field, pursing her creative talents and building a business she is passionate about that also enables others to achieve their goals.

During the interview Denise shares her childhood goals, achieving success in a city law firm, her chance opportunity to become a TV presenter and her passion that led her to Co-Found Halebury Solicitors. Denise also shares night into the work, mindset, networking, effort required to succeed. She also shares the importance of listening to your own inner voice and taking care of your health and wellbeing. Denise shares that it’s not easy and highlights that building her business has been combined with raising a family and commuting.
Denise studied law at Liverpool University and qualified in 2000 with London City firm Charles Russell, joining their corporate commercial team. She then made the move in-house to work as a legal adviser for BSkyB before establishing Halebury with business partner Janvi Patel in 2007 to provide clients with a highly experienced, flexible, cost efficient in-house resource. Whilst at BSkyB she advised on technology and outsourcing contracts with a particular focus on new media.
Denise is also a broadcaster who has presented for Sky News, Sky Travel and hosts Escape to the Country for the BBC. She hosts and speaks at corporate events on subjects relating to Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship. Denise has recently been appointed as a Board member on Practical Law’s In-house Consultation Board and is also a Executive Committee member for MSDUK, the UK’s leading organisation driving inclusive procurement.
