Meet Jessica Huie MBE founder of Colourblind Cards and JHPR. Jessica’s remarkable journey has taken her from being a teenage mum that many may have easily written off to representing major celebrities through her public relations business and and running the UK’s first multi-racial card companies to have its cards stocked in the high street.
I first met Jessica many years ago at the PRECIOUS Awards, which celebrates women of colour in business and corporate life, where she was a double award winner. Since then we’ve been co-hosted the annual awards. What’s fascinating to me about Jessica’s journey as an entrepreneur is that she has always dared to dream and to push herself and continue to work hard to progress all the ups and downs and uncertainties in business. But Jessica is also passionate about being authentic in business and being and finding yourself – and representing businesses that she really cares about.
In this interview Jessica talks about her life, her journey, what’s she’s learned in business and her tips on how to promote your own small business.
Today Jessica’s JHPR business also help small business owners to do their own PR and like myself runs a monthly workshop – How to Generate PR on a Limited Budget – at the British Library’s Business & IP Centre for sole traders and small business owners.
