There’s a song that I love called “Consideration” by Reef that begins with the beautiful line “I don’t think that Kindness is a weakness.” And that’s most certainly true of The Kindness Offensive. As their website puts it “Our aims are to have fun, be kind and inspire as many people as possible to do the same. Performing both small and large-scale Random Acts of Kindness is what we do. It’s a great privilege to be able to work together with so many kind volunteers, companies and charities to make so many people happy.”
Since being founded in 2008 they grown into a group with thousands of volunteers, dozens of corporate sponsors and have given away over £6,000,000 worth of goods, and have run events / made videos generated millions-upon-millions of hits gaining wide-spread media coverage throughout the UK and abroad.
A few weeks ago I caught up with their founders Robert Williams and David Goodfellow to find out more about their work, their story and this very special venture. Part one of that video is above and the rest – including a little tour and a visit to their Kinder Bus can be seen right below.
To find out more about The Kindness Offensive or to support, volunteer some time or assistance visit their website. During the interview they do also share more about this.

Part 3 – Infectious Kindness
We explore the ‘specialness’ of everyone and the infectious nature of kindness and sharing.
Part 3 – Act as if:
Robert shares the technique at the heart of The Kindness Offensive’s success in getting to give from toys for kids and soup for soup kitchens – through to gaining the very building they are based in.
Part 5 – Take a tour
I round off my visit with a short tour of their bookshop and the vintage “Kindness Bus” which is at the heart of many of their large events.
